Schedule the learner's-permit visit
The MVA learner's-permit process directs applicants to make an appointment at a full-service office. You can complete the pre-application and schedule through your myMVA account.
The knowledge test is taken at an MVA location
The Class C knowledge test is normally administered on a computer at an MVA testing location. If you fail the first attempt, the MVA allows a retest on the next business day if an appointment is available.
Schedule the behind-the-wheel test separately
All Maryland behind-the-wheel skills tests require an appointment. Before scheduling, make sure you have completed the permit, practice-log and driver-education requirements that apply to you.
