Nevada residents can apply for an instruction permit from age 15½. Applicants pass the Class C knowledge and vision tests, bring the required identity/residency information and, if under 18, provide school-attendance certification.

Nevada Class C written-test format
Nevada's Class C written test has 25 multiple-choice questions and requires 80% to pass. The test can be taken online through KnowTo Drive Nevada or in person at DMV. The current testing fee is $25 for the initial knowledge and skills test, with a $10 retest fee.

The steps to a Nevada driver license

Nevada teen instruction-permit rules
Nevada's teen instruction permit begins at 15½. The permit provides the supervised-practice stage before the first driver license.
School-attendance certification
Applicants under 18 submit DMV 301 showing they meet Nevada's minimum school-attendance requirements.
Complete supervised driving
Nevada requires at least 50 supervised hours, including 10 at night, with an eligible licensed adult.
Driver education is for the full teen license
The permit itself does not require driver education, but Nevada requires driver education for the full teen driver license.
