The steps to a Oklahoma driver license

A learner permit can begin at age 15 for an applicant enrolled in approved driver education. At 16 or older, driver education is optional for permit eligibility.

  1. Step 1. Study the current Oklahoma Driver Manual and official practice resources.
  2. Step 2. Bring the required identity, lawful-presence, residency and Social Security information, plus driver-education proof when applicable, then complete vision and written testing.
  3. Step 3. Receive the learner permit and practice under supervision. Teen drivers must meet the 180-day, 50-hour and Work Zone Safe requirements before an Intermediate License.
