Oklahoma learner-permit requirements
A learner permit can begin at age 15 for an applicant enrolled in approved driver education. At 16 or older, driver education is optional for permit eligibility.

Age changes the driver-education rule
At 15, approved driver education is required. At 16 and older, driver education is optional for the learner-permit route.
Complete vision and written testing
The standard written exam has 20 questions unless a qualifying approved driver-education completion certificate waives it.
Teen progression has extra requirements
Before an Intermediate License, drivers under 18 must satisfy the current permit-holding, supervised-driving, record and Work Zone Safe requirements.
