Learn the seven basic sign shapes
Georgia's manual explains that the state uses seven basic sign shapes to communicate traffic-control instructions. Learn shape and color together so you can recognize the sign quickly from a distance.
Study signals and road markings too
The manual's signs section also covers traffic-control signals and pavement markings. Know how colors, arrows, lane lines and temporary work-zone controls change what a driver must do.
Practice signs independently from road rules
Because Georgia requires you to pass Road Signs and Road Rules separately, practice the sign section until you can consistently identify signs and their required action without relying on context.
