Georgia knowledge test

Georgia knowledge-test format and passing score

Georgia separates the knowledge exam into Road Signs and Road Rules. Each section contains 20 questions, and you must answer at least 15 correctly in each section to pass.

  • 20Road Signs questions
  • 20Road Rules questions
  • 15 / 20required in each section

Road Signs: 15 of 20

The Road Signs section asks about standard highway signs, signals and markers. DDS requires 15 correct answers out of 20 and states that this part is given in English only.

Road Rules: 15 of 20

The Road Rules section tests driver responsibility, traffic laws and safe-driving practices for the license class you are applying for. You also need at least 15 correct answers out of 20.

You must pass both parts

Treat Georgia's exam as two separate 75% thresholds rather than one combined 40-question score. A strong Road Rules score does not replace a failed Road Signs section.
