Age 18 has its own route

The current handbook lists no learner-permit holding period at age 18, but approved driver education is still required.

Adults 19+ may skip driver education by holding the learner permit for 90 days and completing the required practice before the skills test.

Complete the first-time license exams

Along with the driving process, first-time regular Class D applicants complete the Traffic Safety and Trends Exam at 100%.
