Oregon instruction-permit requirements
Oregon's Class C instruction permit is available from age 15. Applicants study the Driver Manual, pass the knowledge and vision tests and complete the DMV issuance process with the required identity and address information.

Core permit steps
- Study the current Oregon Driver Manual.
- Pass the Class C knowledge test online or at DMV.
- Visit DMV, pass vision and show the required identity/address information.
- Provide SSN or certify that none has been assigned and pay the permit fee.
Under 18 needs parent or guardian approval
Oregon's electronic application must be signed by a parent or legal guardian unless an allowed exception applies.
Teen road-test timing
Applicants under 18 must hold the permit for at least six months before applying for the first license road test.
