Recognize signs by shape and color

Study the standard shapes and colors used for stop, yield, warning, regulatory, school, railroad, work-zone and guide signs. Visual recognition is faster than trying to read every sign from scratch.

Review signals and lane markings too

The manual's traffic-control material also covers traffic lights, lane-control signals, pavement lines and intersection markings. These concepts often appear in rule-based test questions.

Practice in context

Pair sign recognition with right-of-way, intersections, speed and safe-driving questions. The MVA's official online tutorial is a useful final check because it uses the same 25-question length as the real test.
