Indiana Driver's Manual for permit-test study
Indiana BMV says its electronic Driver's Manual contains the current information needed for the operator knowledge exam. Printed copies can lag behind updates, so use the electronic state version when possible.

Use the current electronic manual
Indiana BMV notes that printed manuals may be updated less often. The electronic manual is the best state source for current traffic rules and exam study.
Study both exam sections
- Traffic maneuvers and safe-driving rules
- Traffic signs and their meaning
- Right-of-way, speed and lane rules
- Alcohol, distraction and other safety rules
Use the manual before the knowledge exam
The BMV knowledge exam requires 80% or better on each of its two components.
