Wyoming learner permit and intermediate license for teens

Wyoming combines a regular learner permit with an intermediate GDL stage and also offers a separate restricted hardship route for some younger teens.

Regular learner permit usually begins at 15–16

Practice requires a licensed adult age 18+ in the front passenger seat.

Intermediate permit starts at 16

The teen needs at least 10 days on a learner permit plus 50 actual driving hours, including 10 at night, before the intermediate step.

Intermediate driving is generally 5 a.m.–11 p.m.

Passenger limits also apply, with official exceptions for specified situations.
