Wisconsin appointment guide
Wisconsin DMV appointments for permit and testing
Wisconsin uses different scheduling rules for each step. Knowledge testing at DMV service centers is walk-in only; permit/customer-service visits can use the appointment scheduler, and the road test is scheduled separately.

In-person knowledge tests are walk-in
Wisconsin DMV does not schedule appointments for in-person knowledge tests. Allow enough time because Class D testing can take about 45 minutes.
Permit issuance visit can be scheduled
The general DMV appointment flow can pre-fill application information and provide a document checklist before the customer-service-center visit.
Road tests have a separate appointment system
Use the official road-test scheduler after you meet the permit and age requirements.
