Driver exam stations handle testing

For in-person knowledge testing, Ohio directs applicants to driver exam stations or selected deputy registrar locations. Driving and Skills Test appointments are scheduled online; confirm the testing site shown by the scheduler.

Deputy registrar license agencies issue credentials

After passing the required tests, use a deputy registrar license agency to purchase the TIPIC or driver license. BMV says the TIPIC must be purchased within 60 days of passing the knowledge and vision requirements, and the driver license within 60 days after passing the skills test.

Confirm the service before traveling

Testing, vision screening, credential issuance and other BMV transactions are not identical at every location. Use the official BMV locator or online service flow and verify the selected office's services before you go.
