Nebraska learner-permit requirements
The standard Nebraska Learner's Permit (LPD) allows legal practice for a POP or Class O license and starts at age 15.

Core LPD steps
- Study the current Nebraska Driver's Manual.
- Prepare identity/lawful-status proof, two Nebraska address documents and Social Security information or an accepted exemption.
- Pass vision and written testing.
- Practice with a licensed driver age 21+ beside you.
You may apply shortly before 15
Nebraska allows application up to 60 days before the 15th birthday, but the LPD cannot be issued before age 15.
The standard LPD lasts one year
Use the permit period to gain lawful supervised driving experience.
