Complete the required supervised practice
A minor must hold the instruction permit 180 days before applying for a provisional license, which begins at age 16. State-certified driver education and the road test are required; from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. a permit holder under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
