Florida Class E road test
Florida's Class E driving skills test checks whether you can control the vehicle safely and apply traffic rules on the road. You must provide a roadworthy, properly registered and insured vehicle for the exam.

Your vehicle must pass the pre-test check
The Florida handbook says the test vehicle is inspected before the driving exam. Defective safety equipment, visibility problems, an expired tag or a vehicle that does not meet the state's test requirements can stop the exam before the road portion starts.
Do a basic safety check before leaving home: signals, brake lights, horn, mirrors, tires, wipers, doors, seats and other required equipment should work correctly.
What the examiner observes
The handbook lists driving tasks such as approaching crossings, backing, maintaining safe following space, stopping correctly, obeying signals, yielding, parking on a grade, passing safely, turning with proper signals and controlling the vehicle in normal traffic situations.
Practice the driving decisions behind each maneuver, not a memorized route. The examiner is looking for safe observation, control and rule application.
