Build your 6 Points of ID package

The MVC requires paper or hard-copy proof of age and identity that satisfies the 6 Points of ID rules. Check the current selector before your visit because document values and combinations matter.

Standard and REAL ID use different residency counts

A Standard New Jersey license or ID requires one proof of New Jersey residential address. A REAL ID requires two proofs. The MVC accepts electronic or paper versions for listed residency documents.

Social Security information and BA-208

Applicants must provide a Social Security number, ITIN or affidavit as permitted by the MVC. Form BA-208 is used to apply for or renew a permit, driver license or non-driver ID. Documents not in English need a certified translation.
