The current manual specifically tells applicants to make a Class D written-test appointment before the visit.
Schedule the road test after eligibility
Bring a valid instruction permit, a licensed accompanying driver and proof of insurance for the test vehicle.
Avoid late-cancellation and no-show fees
Minnesota increased exam late-cancellation and no-show fees in 2025, so cancel or reschedule early if you cannot attend.
